The Neighborhood Dog

Loose-leash walking in your neighborhood

Once your dog can focus inside, we open the front door.
Now we apply those same thinking skills to the real world.

Every dog begins with the same foundation and you choose the program that best fits your goals and preferences. Even if your dog already knows some commands, we ensure the “Internal Operating System” is solid before layering advanced skills.
Skipping foundation work is the number one reason training falls apart later. That’s why all our programs give you a solid start - you just chose how far you want to go.

Level 2 isn’t just about leash skills. It’s about impulse control, focus, and emotional regulation outside the home. If those aren’t stable, outdoor reliability won’t hold under distraction.
We build stability first, then expand.

Progress depends on consistency and participation at home. Most families complete each level within a structured program timeline, but that varies based on your dog’s starting point and your follow-through between sessions.

Many reactive or anxious behaviors stem from lack of clarity and impulse control. Our layered system is designed to create stability before exposing your dog to higher-level distractions and triggers.
If your dog requires specialized behavior modification beyond our scope, we will be honest and guide you appropriately. After 18 years of working with severe behavior cases, we know just who to recommend. Our focus now is on rowdy young dogs and puppies that need to learn how to fit into family life.

Yes — and that’s intentional.
Our programs are nested so that whichever program you choose, you’ll get the same solid foundation. You cannot proof advanced reliability in public spaces if your dog doesn’t first have consistent focus and impulse control inside the home.
Level 3 includes everything we work on in Levels 1 and 2 because advanced behavior isn’t built without the foundation.

We understand life happens. We will work with you to reschedule within program guidelines. However, consistent scheduling is critical to maintaining momentum and progress.
Training works best when it stays structured.

Behavior doesn’t exist in isolation. A dog that pulls on leash often also struggles with impulse control at home and likely not listening as well as they could.
Our system addresses root causes, not isolated symptoms, which is why we use a structured program instead of one-off sessions. Our programs can be customized and we have programs for every budget.
